What a gorgeous photo our friend Ryan Parker took of us. I was getting some headshots done by him and Farren and Leo were there and I asked him to take a few of the three of us.. as I have noticed we have a shortage of photos of all three of us together. It had been a while since I had my photo taken and you would think it's something I am comfortable with but I always end up feeling like a dork.  My friend Nickol Walkemeyer did my makeup and it looked great! I am so lucky to have such talented friends who are willing to help me out!

JULY 2011

Hello!

Well, here it is already July! I am sorry to announce I will NOT be at the Whyte Ave. ArtWalk this year. I just underestimated how hard it would be to get any painting done with an 8 month old baby! He's crawling up a storm and putting everything in his mouth. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, the show I closed in June, was a great success, winning a Sterling Award for Best Production of a Musical. I was nominated in the best supporting actress category for my performance as Olive, which was a great honour! I am happy to be done, and to have full days and evenings to spend with my boy! Summer is even more fun with a baby!

I can't guarantee any exciting tweets but I am giving it a go.

For the past year I have been on the hunt for new dinner plates. I just have felt I will know them when I see them. For now we are using some old ugly chipped ones that Farren had from before we were a "we". Well, in a perfect world I would stumble upon these dream dinner plates at Value Village for 2$ or something like that. Unfortunately, I have discovered my dream dinner plates but they are very expensive. Here they are. I figure someday I will be able to afford them. I would love to eat off of them! Are they not things of beauty?

FLASH CARDS

My niece Emma made these beautiful flash cards for my son Leo to help him learn his numbers. I think they are so beautiful.

March!

March is here already! Leo weighs 18 pounds, Edmonton is freezing, and I start rehearsals in two weeks. AHHHHH! I am really not looking forward to leaving Leo for 9 hours a day. It's going to be hard. But I suppose it has to happen sometime!

Remember a while back I did some backdrops for my friend Kate's puppet show? Well, she asked me to do some more for her latest show.. and here is what I did!

Feburary

FAMILY DAY!

We had our first "family day" on Monday. It got off to a bit of a slow start as Leo had a very wakeful night of sleep. Up every hour all night long. Maybe it's because he just learned to roll over! Life is getting very exciting. We spent the day with Leo's grandparents and great- grandparents on Farren's side. Such a lucky boy to have all this extended family around.

And my sister and her husband and kids are coming out for their March Break in a few weeks. Very exciting.

I have been painting a bit and really aching to have a studio someday. Its hard to get everything out and then have to clean it all up.. especially with a little rolling 4 month old boy around. Luckily, he seems to enjoy watching me work. Sometimes if I am in the middle of working and he needs to be held I get paint all over his clothes. Must get him some "painting clothes" as well. I can't wait till he can paint with me!

In 5 weeks I go back to work. I start rehearsals for a fantastic musical called The Putnam County Spelling Bee. I am afraid I really underestimated how difficult it would be to be away from my boy! I have only ever been apart from him for 3 hours.. and that nearly destroyed me. I need to schedule some "practice" sessions. I just love him so much! I don't want to be apart from him! It's going to be hard.

Something else that Leo and I have discovered is the public library.

LIBRARIES ARE THE BEST! We went to lap-time at the Stanley Milner Library here in Edmonton... and although Leo slept through most of it..when he woke up he was in heaven! I can't wait to go again. It was really great to be around other babies and mothers. Plus it's FREE! The price is right I say!

Well.. that's all for now. Trying trying trying to be better about this blog! So far so good!
